Marketo Invests in Education and Training to Equip Current and Future Marketers for Success
SAN FRANCISCO, April 25, 2017 -- Marketo, Inc., the leading provider of engagement marketing software and solutions, announced that it will be releasing free training courses for all marketers via Marketo University. The company also announced a partnership with GreenFig University, a micro university offering micro degrees in applied business science, to develop and deliver a digital marketing course to students and professionals across the United States. Both initiatives underscore Marketo's commitment to ensuring all marketers, regardless of their background or level of expertise, have the resources they need to succeed in the Engagement Economy.

The new Marketo University and GreenFig University partnership were unveiled on stage in front of thousands of marketers at the Marketing Nation® Summit in San Francisco. It is the second major education announcement that Marketo made this year, following the release of its redesigned curriculum, new courses, and new certification exam in March.
The New Marketo University
On May 15, marketers will have access to seven free, self-paced training modules from Marketo University, which cover everything from setting up a Marketo instance to building engaging content. More than 35 modules are planned for release by the end of 2017. To access the courses, marketers can simply visit the Marketo University section of Marketo's website. Previously, Marketo trainings were only available to Marketo customers and partners.
Each training module typically contains four core components to help any marketer, regardless of background or skill level, learn engagement marketing concepts and see how they are executed through the Marketo Engagement Platform. These components include:
- A LEARN video to introduce the concept, what it is, why it's important, and key considerations for success.
- A WATCH video that provides instructions on how to approach and execute the topic within the Marketo Engagement Platform.
- DO resources, which provide step-by-step written instructions on how to accomplish tasks in Marketo.
- A CHECK assessment, which is a short quiz to assess whether someone has learned the core concepts of the training module.

Marketo's instructor-led courses, which offer deep-dive and hands-on training in the Marketo Engagement Platform, will still be available through Marketo University for a fee, as will the Marketo Certified Expert Exam, and newly added Marketo Specializations available to certified experts to extend their Marketo certification.
Partnership With GreenFig
Bruce Cleveland, chairman and co-founder of GreenFig University, joined Lucas on stage at the Marketing Nation Summit to share details on the university's first micro degree, which focuses on digital marketing science and will be awarded in partnership with Marketo. It will provide students with fundamental Marketo skills, digital marketing strategy, basic digital marketing work experience, and a formal digital marketing science certification process.

The key elements of the partnership include:
- A GreenFig Micro Certificate in digital marketing science.
- A comprehensive marketing curriculum designed by Marketo and GreenFig University to provide students with the knowledge and experience they need to understand the science of end-to-end digital marketing, such as content management, SEO/SEM, account-based marketing, and more.
- Graduates of the program can continue with more advanced certification through additional Marketo University training programs.

The program will be physically broadcast over the GreenFig University Education Broadcasting Network and delivered in real-time to students located in several selected cities.
