Lead Management Innovator Marketo’s Amy Guarino Honored as Woman of Influence by Silicon Valley and Industry Peers

Proven Alliance Maker Forges New Business Partnerships for Fastest Growing Marketing Automation Provider

SAN MATEO, CA – April 1, 2009 – Marketo’s Vice President of Business Development Amy Guarino was honored as one of Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal’s Women of Influence for 2009. Guarino was recognized for her strong leadership role in business and in the community and for exemplifying many of the attributes that make Silicon Valley a global leader. The Business Journal honored 100 of Silicon Valley’s most impressive women, as nominated by their community and selected by a panel of judges.

Marketo is today’s fastest growing marketing automation provider, delivering innovative, demand generation tools that adapt to the cadence of today’s savvy business buyer. Its flagship product, Marketo Lead Management, attracted 160 customers in its first year of availability and was named the Best Marketing Automation Solution by salesforce.com customers on the Force.com AppExchange.

“Amy is a proven game changer and distinguished person of influence,” said Jim Steele, Chief Customer Officer and President of Worldwide Sales at salesforce.com. “I have enjoyed partnering with Amy and following her career as she continues to infuse energy into promising high flying companies like Marketo.”

At the awards ceremony, each winner was called to the stage, presented with a crystal Tiffany award, and asked to say 10 words or less. Guarino, a community volunteer and Notre Dame alumni, replied, “Faith, family, Notre Dame, Go Irish!”

Guarino runs the Marketo Alliance program, where she forges business partnerships with five distinct categories of companies: expert partners, agency partners, referral and reseller partners, solution partners, and marketing moguls. Her track record of sales and channel management success includes positions at Right90, Biz360 and IBM.
