Director, Site Operations

Marketo is seeking a Director, Site Operations to ensure reliable, highly available, cost effective operations of our SaaS application environment. This position is full-time and will be based in our San Mateo, California location.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of all technical operations for our 24x7 hosted LAMP application
  • Vendor selection, management and contract negotiation
  • Create and implement critical operational processes/procedures utilizing your knowledge of industry best practices
  • Ensure alignment with business objectives and product development, partnering with the CTO to develop the infrastructural components of the strategic technology roadmap
  • Over time, expand hosting infrastructure across multiple geographically distributed data centers
  • Establish and improve operations and performance management by monitoring, measuring and reporting of service performance against Service Level Objectives, customer satisfaction and financial efficiencies
  • Ensure appropriate systems and service continuity plans are defined, in place and exercised regularly
  • Identify and prioritize risk and opportunity areas for appropriate action
  • Build a high performing team through staff development, recruiting and retention that can support Marketo’s growing business needs
Requirements:
  • Director level experience managing large, high performance, highly scalable web operations in a hosted environment
  • Experience in applying best practices to improve quality and cost of technology services in a managed hosting/ SaaS environment
  • Working knowledge of Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP and Cisco technologies
  • Project management expertise, including estimating project duration, effort, resource load and cost
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to work effectively at the executive level
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with internal staff and IT vendors
  • Participate in off-hours coverage
